At Shevlin Park with the Neary Family

I’ve known the Neary family, specifically, Sean’s sister Kate, since I was 11. We were best friends in middle school, and it’s been such a joy to be able to document her big brother’s family through the past few years. I got to take maternity photos for them for their first baby, Quinn, and I also got to take new born photos for their son, Declan. Now their family is busy and fun, and the kept me on my photographic toes at their holiday mini session this year.

With kiddos so young, it’s important to bring play into the session, and not be too rigid or structured. Let the kids explore and play and hope you’ll get some good shots. Thankfully, most kids do cute things if left to their own devices, so you just have to be patient. Quinn, now 3, was so fun to follow around. She was so self-directed and sure of herself. Her brother, a little more introverted enjoyed observing, but in the end, we were able to get some good smiles from him too.

Loved my time with this family, and can’t wait to see them for their next session.

Aaaaaand before you go, I had to include one of their halloween micro session photos from the day before. I can’t, you guys. I just can’t. Look at how cute they are.
